220th Century Studies IICourse Description
- This course integrates world and US history with
civics, economics and geography from 1945 to the
present. There will be an emphasis on the
following themes - Understand the importance and lasting influence
of issues, events, people and developments in US
and world history. - Understand and interpret relationships in history
including chronology, cause and effect, change
and continuity over time describing how different
perspectives affect interpretations. - Analyze and explain the historical basis of
contemporary issues. - Design and implement strategies to analyze and
resolve issues and explain perspectives.

- Material to be covered is difficult and
demanding. - Work outside of class will be necessary to pass
the class. - All students must
- Complete all in class and written assignments and
activities - Take all quizzes and tests
- Complete a semester project
- Keep an organized class notebook containing
notes, worksheets, assignment sheets, and other
handouts.

720th Century Studies II Class Participation/Atten
dance
- Attendance and participation are 20 of your
grade. - Five participation points can be earned each day
by being present, being prepared, and
participating appropriately. - Students with excused absences can complete a
make-up assignment to earn participation points.
820th Century Studies II Classroom Rules
- Do not talk while the teacher or others are
talking. - Be on time and have textbook, paper and something
to write with everyday. - Keep the classroom neat and clean. Pick up after
yourself. - All other school and district rules apply
(cheating, dress, etc.).
920th Century Studies II Special Rules
- You may email your assignments in lieu of turning
them in during class. Emailed assignments must
be received prior to the start of the class
period in which they are due. - You will be allowed to turn two assignments in
two days late during the term. Please attach
your get out of work free card distributed
today to the assignment when you turn it in late.
If you lose your card, you lose the right to
turn in an assignment late.
