4Main Menu Changes
- The GO field has been renamed to GO TO
- This allows direct access to forms, and jobs.
- New Shortcut Click on the Go To field and use
the up and down arrows on your keyboard to scroll
through forms accessed in the current session.

Product shortcuts are now in a drop-down list. .
The Menu, Site Map and Help buttons have been
removed and are now links.
My BANNER personal menu now easier to setup.
The Banner Broadcast Messages section displays
Broadcast messages sent out to all users.
6My Links and My Institution
- My Links
- Provides quick access to changing your Banner
password and accessing Banner messages. - The Personal Links can be customized to link to
Banner forms or web sites.
- My Institution
- Provides quick access to the CSUMB website. The
graphic can be changed.
7Larger View of Data
- The standard form size is larger, allowing you to
see more information on the screen and reducing
scrolling. - Important Set your screen resolution to 1024 x
768 pixels to minimize scrolling -
8Logical Breaks and Reformatting
Data may appear in a different format on a form.
New related data from other forms may now be
available in a tab.
Notice the separator line at the top of many
blocks , the logical breaks, and non-abbreviated
field names.
9Tabbed Form
- Many forms have tabs on the top of each block.
- Tabs provide easy access to information rather
than performing a Next block function. - On forms that do not have the tabs across the
top, you will still need to perform a Next block
function or use the Options menu to navigate to
the various blocks. - Click a tab to display specific data or press F2
to move through the tabs on a form using your
arrow keys.
10Drop-Down Arrow and Calendar
A new calendar icon has been added next to date
entry fields to make it easier to enter the date.
The Search buttons and blue-labeled List of
Values (LOV) text have been replaced with a
drop-down arrow.
11Banner 6 Left Navigation Frame
The Left Navigation Frame will not be displayed
in Banner 7.
12Options Drop Down Menu
The Options drop down menu replaces the Banner
6 Left Navigation Frame.
Options Menu is now accessible via a Right-click
anywhere on the form.
13Navigational Enhancements
Radio buttons or checkboxes can now be clicked on
either the button/checkbox or the label text to
select the option.
Right click on form in non-field area to display
available options. NEW OPTION Add a form to
your My Banner menu while viewing the form.
14Navigational Enhancements
- When a search button brings up an option list,
you can now use your keyboard to navigate the
various options. - Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select the
option, then press Enter to access the option.

- You can now navigate to other forms without
leaving the form you are on by pressing F5 to
access the Go To field and then entering the form
name and press Enter to access the form. - Press F5 again to close the Go To field.

Click the MY LINKS tab and enter the
description and url address complete with
http// prefix in the User Value field as
described.

Click the Display Options tab to change your
settings. Note Colors can now be customized by
adding RGB values
