  • Mount Royal offers many different programs
    tailored to meet industry, educational and

International Projects at Mount Royal
  • Mount Royal has many great opportunities for
    students to participate in international exchange
    programs in over 15 different countries. These
    programs provide Mount Royal students the
    opportunity to experience a different culture,
    gain international skills, promote and expand
    international understanding and develop new
    friendships.

The Languages Institute
  • The Languages Institute plays an integral role in
    Mount Royals internationalization strategy by
    providing comprehensive language instruction in a
    supportive atmosphere.
  • Each year, the Institute welcomes hundreds of
    students from Europe, Asia and Latin America for
    English language programs for academic study,
    work or travel.
  • We offer English language training, business
    English language training, teacher training,
    customized programs, and foreign language training

English Language Programs
  • The English Language Program at Mount Royal has
    an international reputation for excellence.
  • There are three full-time English language
    programs at Mount Royal
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • English for Advanced Communication (EAC)
  • English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

EAP 3 graduates satisfy the MRC English
Language Proficiency requirement

English Language Programs
  • Credit Programs
  • EAP students can take a variety of high school
    subjects, college level courses or university
    transfer courses
  • Length of Programs
  • All classes in the ESL, EAC, and EAP programs
    are three months (12 weeks) long. Classes run
    from Monday to Friday (22.5 hours each week)
  • Conditional Acceptance
  • Students are welcome to apply for conditional
    acceptance in a credit program upon registration
    at the Languages Institute. We will reserve a
    place in the full-time credit program in Open
    Studies (some conditions apply)..

Business English Certificate of Completion Program
  • Students can earn their certificate in our
    Business English program as well as expand and
    refine language skills needed to successfully
    function in the Canadian workplace
  • Students are able to register in courses of
    interest without completing the entire
    certificate program.

  • Business Writing Office Skills
  • Speechcraft
  • Business Writing Executive Skills
  • Marketing, Sales and Negotiation

Summer Immersion English Program
  • Offered for four weeks in July and August, the
  • Summer Immersion English program is compiled of
    two main components
  • Core program Students practice discussion and
    debate skills and develop listening skills,
    increase English vocabulary and idiom use.
  • Module program Students choose which aspect of
    language to focus on (reading, listening,
    speaking, grammar or writing). Examples of such
    modules are as follows film study, newsletter
    writing, cultural exploration, and other
    specialized topics.

  • Optional Weekend Trips Students have the
  • opportunity to tour scenic attractions near
    Calgary.
  • Accommodation Students live in Residences
  • during their stay.

  • Mount Royals Residence houses more than 1,000
    students. These fully furnished one, two, and
    four bedroom units include cable TV, digital
    phone and high speed internet.
  • Student residences are a short walk to class and
    a great place to meet new friends!

  • Each unit has a shared kitchen, living room
    (including television), storage area and
    bathroom.
  • Each student will have a private room with a bed
    and desk.
  • Students are responsible for buying and cooking
    their own food.

  • Mount Royal College offers an airport

  • students. Students need only to apply
  • online or fax in the application form and
  • our airport personnel will greet them at
  • the airport.
