Student Activity Fee Board (SAF-B)
  • What SAF-B can fund
  • On - and Off - campus events
  • Events that enhance campus life and are
    accessible to significant parts of the DePaul
    community
  • Domestic Travel / Conferences (up to 1500)
  • Organization equipment
  • Organization apparel
  • (up to 25 of reasonable requests once per year)
  • Food to enhance events (up to 1500 per event)
  • Events in University buildings must use
    Chartwells catering.

  • What SAF-B can NOT fund
  • International Travel/ Conferences
  • Events that are inaccessible to portions of the
    DePaul community
  • Food that is the primary source

Student Activity Fee Board (SAF-B)
  • An organization can receive
  • If the organization is comprised mostly of
    18-24 year old undergraduate students
  • For requests over 2,000, a member of the
    organization must meet with the SAF-B Advisor or
    a Student Life Staff representative in advance of
    the hearing
  • An organization can receive funding
  • As often as they apply, provided funds are
    available and the organization is in good
    standing with the office of Student Life.

How Do I Apply?
  • Develop a program/event idea
  • Talk it over with your organization members
  • Complete the application, including support
    materials APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED!!
  • Biographies (Background on the speaker/performer)
  • Two vendor quotes per item requested (exception
    Food quotes as student organizations must use
    Chartwells for on-campus events.)
  • Make sure your proposal is DETAILED SPECIFIC!
  • Co-Sponsor Agreements
  • BUDGET (USE THE SAMPLE FORM!!!)

  • Submit the application ON TIME!
  • (Applications due Thursday by 5 p.m. before a
    Monday Hearing.)

SAF-B Hearings
  • Hearings held every other Monday night during the
    Fall and Winter quarters from 5 9 p.m. in room
    312 in the Lincoln Park Student Center.
  • A member from the requesting organization must
    present their funding request to the SAF-B board.
  • Once a completed application is turned in,
    members may sign-up to present at the Office of
    Student Life.
  • Up to 15 organizations may sign-up per hearing
  • (Sign-up is first come, first serve.)
  • Presentations are 10 minutes maximum.
  • Failure to attend a hearing will result in no
    funding.
  • Therefore, it is recommended that two members
    sign-up for a hearing presentation to ensure
    attendance.

  • All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on
    the deadline dates above.
  • The first 15 complete applications will be
    accepted. If the hearing is full before the
    deadline, unfortunately no additional
    applications can be accepted, so please apply
    early.

SAF-B Reminders
  • The SAAB Board is no longer in operation.
  • SAF-B awarded funds are not transferred into
    student organizations accounts and are lost if
    not used during their allocation period.
  • Please Be Aware of Voucher Check Reimbursement
    Deadlines.
  • Please keep all receipts/invoices and remember
    hand-written receipts can not be accepted.
