12
TEN UNIVERSAL ELEMENTSDiez Elementos Universales
PART ONE
13
ONE PRAYER (Oración)
Prayer is fundamental to every Church Planting
Movement. La Oración es fundamental para cada
Movimiento de Plantación de Iglesias
14
TWO ABUNDANT GOSPEL SOWING (Siembra Abundante
del Evangelio)
The law of the harvest applies well If you sow
abundantly you will also reap abundantly. La ley
de la cosecha se aplica Si usted siembra
abundantemente cosechará abundantemente
15
THREE INTENTIONAL CHURCH PLANTING(Plantación
Intencional de Iglesias)
A strategy of deliberate church planting is
needed before the movement can get underway. (Se
necesita una estrategia deliberada de plantación
de iglesias antes que se inicie un movimiento).
16
FOUR SCRIPTURAL AUTHORITYAutoridad Espiritual
Church Planting Movements rest solidly on the
authority of the Word of God. (Un Movimiento de
Plantación de Iglesias se basa sólidamente en la
Palabra de Dios).
17
FIVE LOCAL LEADERSHIP (Liderazgo Local)
Missionaries cultivate and establish local
leaders rather than doing it themselves. (Los
misioneros cultivan y establecen a los líderes
locales en vez de hacer todo el trabajo ellos
mismos)
18
SIX LAY LEADERSHIP(Líderes Laicos)
Church Planting Movements are driven by lay
leaders. (Los movimientos de Plantación de
Iglesias son impulsados por los líderes laicos)
19
SEVEN CELL OR HOUSE CHURCHES(Iglesias
Celulares o Iglesias Caseras)
These movement churches begin as small
reproducible cell churches of 10-30 members
meeting in homes or storefronts. (En estos
movimientos comienzan con iglesias pequeñas
celulares de 10-30 miembros reuniéndose en
hogares o locales alquilados).
20
EIGHTCHURCHES PLANTING CHURCHES(Las Iglesias
Plantan Iglesias)
As CPMs enter a multiplicative phase of
reproduction, the churches themselves plant new
churches. (Cuando los MPI entran en su fase
multiplicativa, las iglesias mismas plantan las
nuevas iglesias)
21
NINE RAPID REPRODUCTION(Reproducción Rápida)
Rapid reproduction is evidence that the churches
are unencumbered by non-essential elements and
the laity are fully empowered to participate in
this work of God. (La reproducción rápida es
evidencia de que las iglesias no son restringidas
por elementos no esenciales y que los laicos
tienen plena autoridad para participar en la obra
de Dios)
22
TEN HEALTHY CHURCHES(Iglesias Saludables)
Five biblical purposes of 1) worship 2)
evangelism and missions, 3) discipleship, 4)
ministry, and 5) fellowship. (Cinco propósitos
bíblicos 1) adoración 2) evangelismo 3)
discipulado 4) ministerio 5)
compañerismo).
23
NINE OBSTACLES TO CPMSNueve Obstáculos
PART THREE
24
ONE IMPOSING EXTRA-BIBLICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR
CHURCH (Imponer Requisitos Extra-bíblicos)
  • What are the biblical requirements?
  • Cuáles son los requisitos bíblicos?

25
TWO LOSS OF A VALUED CULTURAL IDENTITY (Pérdida
de Identidad Cultural)
  • What cultural elements are consistent with the
    gospel?
  • Qué elementos culturales son consistentes con
    el evangelio?

26
  • When a people group must abandon its own culture
and embrace a foreign culture to come to Christ
    a major obstacle exists!
  • Cuando un grupo tiene que abandonar su cultura y
adoptar otra cultura para venir a Chisto existe
    un obstáculo mayor

27
THREE OVERCOMING POOR EXAMPLES OF CHRISTIANITY
(Superando malos ejemplos del cristianismo)
  • The challenge created by those who have preceded
    us
  • El desafío es creado por los que nos precedieron

28
FOUR NON-REPRODUCIBLE CHURCH MODELS (Modelos de
iglesias no reproductivos)
  • Can this approach to church planting be
reproduced by these local believers? (Pueden
los creyentes locales reproducir este modelo de
    plantación de iglesias?

29
FIVE SUBSIDIES CREATING DEPENDENCE (Subsidios
que crean dependencia)
  • The Help that Hurts
  • La ayuda que daña

30
SIX EXTRA-BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
(Requisitos para liderazgo extra-bíblicos)
  • What are the biblical requirements for church
leadership? Cuáles son los requisitos bíblicos?

31
SEVEN PLANTING FROG RATHER THAN LIZARD
CHURCHES(Iglesias Ranas en vez de Lagartijas)
  • What is the difference between frogs and
    lizards?
  • (Qué es la diferencia entre las ranas y las
    lagartijas)

32
A PREPODERANCE OF MULES(Preponderancia de Mulas)
  • We need horses rather than mules
  • Necesitamos caballos en vez de mulas

33
EIGHT LINEAR, SEQUENTIAL THOUGHT AND PRACTICE
(Forma de pensar linear)
  • Instead of step by step missionaries must start
with the end product. (En vez de pensar paso a
paso, los misioneros necesitan comenzar con el
    producto final)

34
NI NE TRANSPLANTED RATHER THAN C0NTEXTUAL
STATEGIES (Estrategias transplantadas en vez de
contextuales)
  • Know the target group and then develop the
strategy (Conoce al grupo meta y luego desarrolla
    la estrategia)

35
CHURCHPLANTING MOVEMENTS
PART THREE
36
ONE WORSHIP IN THE HEART
LANGUAGE
Worship in the common heart language of the
people keeps it accessible and within reach of
all members of the community and allows everyone
to participate in a new
churchs formation.
37
TWO EVANGELISM HAS COMMUNAL
IMPLICATIONS
Contrary to the Western emphasis on individualism
and personal commitment, CPMs typically spread
through communal lines and family ties.
38
THREE RAPID INCORPORATION OF NEW CONVERTS INTO
THE LIFE AND MINSTRY OF THE CHURCH.
In most Church Planting Movements, baptism is not
delayed by lengthy discipleship requirements.
39
instead, discipleship often precedes conversion
and continues indefinitely. New believers become
immediate witnesses, disciples, and even church
planters.
40
FOUR PASSION FEARLESSNESS
Church Planting Movements are characterized by
passion and a sense of urgency. New believers
exhibit a boldness in the face of opposition.
While boldness may invite persecution,
it also fuels a
Church Planting Movement.
41
FIVE A PRICE TO PAY TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN
Church Planting Movements often emerge in
difficult settings where following Jesus Christ
may lead to severe persecution or death.
42
SIX PERCEIVED LEADERSHIP CRISIS OR SPIRITUAL
VACUUM
A country or people group that has experienced a
loss of leadership or a spiritual void coming
from war, natural disaster or displacement may
create a ripe environment for a
Church Planting Movement.
43
In the face of this persecution, believers find
strong support in the testimony of Jesus and the
New Testament Church (Matt. 1017-25).
44
SEVEN ON-THE-JOB TRAINING FOR CHURCH
LEADERSHIP
If new church leaders must leave their churches
for extended periods of theological training, the
momentum of the movement diminishes. The
most beneficial
training brings
education close
to the action.
45
EIGHT LEADERSHIP AUTHORITY IS
DECENTRALIZED
In a CPM every cell or house church leader has
all the authority required to do whatever needs
to be done in terms evangelism,
ministry, and church planting
without seeking
higher approval.
46
NINE OUTSIDERS KEEP A LOW PROFILE
To encourage indigeneity, missionaries draw local
believers into leadership roles through
participative Bible studies and mentoring from
behind the scenes.
47
TEN MISSIONARIES SUFFFER
Many engaged in Church Planting Movements have
suffered illness, derision and shame. Students
of CPMs suggest that the affliction may be
related to a higher spiritual price required for
rolling back the darkness
(Rev.1212).
