The Heart of the International Baccalaureate
Program

• The heart of the mission of a Primary Years
  Program school is to develop students who
  demonstrate the traits of the IBO Learner
  Profile. The Learner Profile represents the
  qualities needed to become a true international
  citizen in the world today.

Inquiry in our Grade 3 Classroom

• Inquiry is a process initiated by the
  students or teacher, which moves the students
  from their current level of understanding to a
  new and deeper level of understanding.

• Exploring, wondering and questioning
• Experimenting and playing with possibilities
  (NTA)
• Making connections between previous learning and
  current learning (LBD)

Goals and National Tests in Year 3

• National Tests help to identify areas of
  improvement for a student enabling early
  intervention and focused support
• There are two types of curriculum goals in
  Sweden goals to aim for and goals to attain
• Goals to attain have now (2008) been implemented
  for Grade 3
• National Test in Mathematics National Test in
  Swedish will be piloted and tested this year for
  all Grade 3 students in Sweden
