Update on Alternative Provision (AP)

• Aim
• To improve the quality of provision by
• Increasing attendance and attainment and
• Increasing re-integration rates.
• To address areas of weaknesses in PRUs as
  identified by OFSTED, e.g. governance,
  accommodation, curriculum.
• For external AP market, to assist in the creation
  of more knowledgeable commissioners more
  responsive providers of AP.

• Guidance and case studies on
• PRU curriculum and accommodation,
• Good practice AP examples and results of LA AP
  research.
• Increase LAs and schools knowledge of AP
  providers.
