In every human relationship, the biggest source
of conflict is unmet expectations.

unchanging character

Lord is faithful (13) -The Lord helps the fallen
(14) -The Lord is righteous (17) -The Lord is
close to all who call on Him (18)

The Lord protects those who love him (20) This
doesnt mean God delivers his people from the
storms, rather it means He delivers them through
the storms.
15Why didnt God prevent suffering? Because he
created us in his image. The high price tag for a
loving relationship among people is freedom.
Human freedom means we have the willful
opportunity to say yes and to love God, but we
also have the willful opportunity to say no and
to do what is wrong. God thought it was so
important to maintain our dignity that he gave us
the opportunity to freely love or reject him,
knowing that our freedom would result in pain.
But he allowed it, knowing before the foundation
of the earth that the only remedy for that pain
would be JesusHe would come and die to pay the
price that restores that relationship. Chip

suffering are a consequence of personal sin.
They were sincere, but sincerely wrong.

The Bible teaches God's will often includes a
positive use of problems in our lives.
19Response to pain/suffering 4Let God be God
Dear friends, dont be surprised at the fiery
trials you are going through, as if something
strange were happening to you. Instead, be very
glad-because these trials will make you partners
with Christ in his suffering, and afterward you
will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory
when it is displayed to all the world So if
you are suffering according to Gods will, keep
on doing what is right, and trust yourself to the
God who made you, for he will never fail
you. 1 Peter 412-13, 19
