  • A comma has the same shape as an apostrophe mark.
  • According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the
    word "comma" comes directly from the Greek komma
    (??µµa), which means "something cut off" or "a
    short clause."

  • If there are three or more items in a series,
    they should be separated by commas.
  • Example The teachers in Syosset are smart,
    intelligent, and very cool.
