Title: Grant Proposal
1Grant Proposal
- Catering for learner diversity
Presented by Mr. Yuen Chi Fai 29-8-07
2Statement of need
- Greater diversity of abilities among our F1
students in recent years - Over 90 of the F1 students come from Chinese
primary schools. - Under the current 3-banding system, the Band 1
students are the top 33 instead of the top 20
as that of the previous 5-banding system. - Most of them find it difficult to adapt to the
English learning environment in an EMI school,
particularly with the existing big class size and
the insufficient exposure to English Language in
their daily life.
3Statement of need
- Appropriate support measure required at this
transitional period - Wider range of abilities
- Smaller learning groups
- Greater attention for individual students
- Tailor-made teaching materials to address
different learning needs
4Special Grouping for learning English in F1
