The Kent Partnership Board Review Group Update

• The Review Group have met four times.
• The Review Group have used the information and
  decisions that were agreed at the Kent Learning
  Disability Board in April to help them in their
  discussions.
• The Review Group have considered 3 possible
  options for the overall structure of the
  Partnership Board and will be recommending that
  the Board keeps the current structure of a main
  Board plus District Partnership Groups.

• The Kent Autistic Spectrum Select Committee
  Report has been agreed by Cabinet members and is
  now with Policy and implementation planning. The
  review group agreed to run 1 or 2 workshops
  around the strategy  and funded though LDDF money
  
• The Review Group have put together a list of
  areas and subjects that will be in the review and
  is discussing who could carry out the work and
  how much it will cost.

• At the next meeting The Review Group will be
  talking with someone from the KASS Contracts
  Department who will help with developing the
  contract for the work.

• The Review Group has agreed to ask the Tizard
  Centre to produce a report and some practical
  suggestions about how people with complex needs
  and challenging behaviour can be better included
  in the Kent LD Partnership Board and the District
  Partnership Groups.

• The Review Group have decided to have a special
  meeting to discuss the LDDF money so that rules
  and procedures can be agreed to make sure that
  the LDDF money is spent fairly and the Kent LD
  Partnership Board can monitor whether the LDDF
  money is helping to achieve the aims of Valuing
  People Now.

• The National Guidance about Partnership Boards
  still hasnt been published. When it is the
  Review Group will make sure that the work it is
  doing fits in with the National Guidance. Which
  will include the structure of the Kent Board. The
  Guidance on membership will it is indicated be
  very prescriptive.
