• Continuity

• To be more sustainable and secure.........

When is the funding needed?

• Time line activity complete the worksheet for
  your own organisation
• Example funding timescales
• Grassroots fund deadline 15th Jan, decisions
  announced end Feb
• Children In need deadline 15th Jan, decisions
  up 5 months later
• Awards for all ongoing applications, but need
  to allow 3 months before project start
• Christmas Fair takes 3 months to organise
• Sponsored walk takes 1 month to organise and 2
  months after the walk before sponsorship money
  comes through
• Council commissioning has strict deadlines for
  tender, but the contract may take 3 months to
  negotiate

• Evidence of need
• What are you aims? What difference do you hope to
  make?
• Are you an Octopus or a train?

How much money do we need and from where?

• Dont put all your eggs in one basket - diversity
  of income sources is key
• The amount of money you need will determine what
  source of funding you can use
• Pros and Cons if different funding streams
  exercise
• Think about how much money they bring in, is it
  restricted, how much effort it is, how long does
  it take, can you rely on it?

• Who will be responsible?
• What is your 1 priority fundraising goal for the
  next month?

• Write a fundraising strategy a written statement
  of how a group plans to fund its work
• Any size, any style.
• What should be included, who will do it, how long
  will it take?.....
