Whats the Background?
  • Wood Packaging Material represents one of the
    highest risk pathways for introducing pests
    internationally
  • International Standard (ISPM 15) signed March
    2002, as part of the International Plant
    Protection Convention of the FAO. Over 134
    countries adopted
  • Extensive Consultation taken place since 2002

  • CBSA is enforcing the provisions of the Plant
    Protection Act
  • The Rules No Stamp, No Phyto, No Entry
  • All costs associated with non-compliant shipments
    are the responsibility of the importer or the
    person in care and control of the importation

  • Canada is enforcing the standard marine ports
    are our priority
  • Monthly conference calls continue with Shipping
    Federation, Port Authorities, Brokers, Importer
    Associations

  • Industry must be reminded of their responsibility
