Flux Emergence in an AR

• Flux emergence in a growing AR is easier to
  observe. (Recall Kubo sans talk today)
• An example of recent high resolution observations
  is from the Flare Genesis Experiment balloon
  data. ApJ 575, 506 2002
• Ellerman Bombs
• bright emission in both wings of H-alpha
• size 1, lifetime 20minutes
• frequency 1.5/minute for FOV (18x24)
