2Understanding How FAITH Changes Us!
Pax Romana
3The Gospel (Good News) leads us to FAITH - Not
only ours, but Gods
Faith means being sure of the things we hope for
and knowing that something is real even if we do
not see it . . . It is by faith we understand
that the whole world was made by Gods command so
what we see was made by something that cannot be
seen.
Hebrews 11.1, 3
4Asking the RIGHT Questions
What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or
what value is there in circumcision?
Romans 3.1
5Asking the RIGHT Questions
What if some did not have faith? Will their lack
of faith nullify Gods faithfulness?
Romans 3.3
6Asking the RIGHT Questions
But if our unrighteousness brings out Gods
righteousness more clearly, what shall we say?
Romans 3.5
7Asking the RIGHT Questions
If my falsehood enhances Gods truthfulness and
so increases his glory, why am I still condemned
as a sinner?
Romans 3.7
8 God Uses and Empowers Me ___________
JUST AS I AM
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus or good works, which God prepared
beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2.10
9Myth 1 God only uses me when Im Good.
Myth 2 God only uses people who have it all
together.
God doesnt ALWAYS call the qualified into His
service. But God ALWAYS qualifies those whom He
calls!
10 God Faithfulness is Intrinsic to __________
HIS NATURE
He is like a rock what he does is perfect, and
he is always fair. He is a faithful God who does
no wrong, who is right and fair.
Deuteronomy 32.4
11Myth 1 God goodness is contingent upon my
actions.
Myth 2 God helps those you help themselves.
God does not operate on the basis of reciprocity.
His ability to remain faithful, to be trustful,
to be righteous does not depend on us.
12 God Faithfulness is a Gift of __________
HIS GRACE
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his
grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary,
I worked harder than any of them, though it was
not I, but the grace of God which is with me.
1 Corinthians 15.10
13Myth 1 It doesn't matter how I live.
Myth 2 Sin doesnt really matter.
Let us not imagine that baptism (whether as an
infants or a believer), or attending church, or a
one-time conversion experience, or some
overwhelming spiritual high irrevocable marks as
members of the New Covenant community. With
privilege comes responsibility, otherwise Grace
is received in vain!
