3Health Protection and Promotion Act
- Purpose
- To provide for the organization and delivery of
public health programs and services, the
prevention of the spread of disease and the
promotion and protection of health of the people
of Ontario. - Duty of board of health
- Every board of health shall superintend, provide
or ensure the provision of health programs and
services required by this Act
4Mandatory Health Programs Services
- The minister may publish guidelines for the
provision of mandatory health programs and
services and every board shall comply with the
published guidelines. (RSO 1990, c.H.7, s.7) - The Mandate
- It is expected that boards of health will deliver
additional programs and services in response to
local needs. (MPSG 1997)
