How a Ground Source Heat Pump Works

Cold refrigerant passes through a heat exchanger
and absorbs the low temperature heat from the
ground loop liquid
Finally the fluid is passed through a relief
valve where the rapid drop in pressure results
in the fluid cooling rapidly from where It
begins the cycle again.

This heat is then given off through your central
heating to warm your home and to heat your
water.
The refrigerant evaporates into gas as the heat
is absorbed. It is then pressurised by a
compressor raising its temperature to about 80
degrees Celsius (180 degrees Fahrenheit)
