poverty because it is farmland.

dominated by whites.

part of Maine there are more farmland than in the
southern areas near cities.
7Most of the people in Maine are between the ages
of 5 and 17, which is shown by the sky blue in
the pie chart.
8The density of colleges and universities in the
southern part of the state relates to the higher
amount of college-age people in the same area.
