Summary

• The use of technology is increasing in todays
  world.
• If used correctly, it can be a great resource and
  learning tool for both teacher and student.
• I am writing this grant to submit to the
  Mahomet-Seymour Foundation requesting funding to
  purchase a LCD/laptop system for my classroom.
• Through the use of this grant I will be able to
  use technology on a daily basis and teach to all
  the learning styles of my students.

Background

• Mahomet-Seymour is a district focused on
  technology.
• The students I teach all have disabilities.
  Some learn better through vision, others through
  auditory, and others through kinesthetic.
• By using a LCD/laptop system in my teaching, I
  will be able to reach my students in all these
  ways.

Statement of Need

• A.  I would not have to worry about availability
  or the system connecting properly with my
  classroom computer.
• Since the system would remain in my room, it
  would save time with hook up and system checks.
• B.  Money would be saved because I would make
  power point presentation for classroom
  information.
• I would not have to use ink, toner, or overhead
  film to make lessons.

  and auditory. I would also be able to teach this
  technology to students and offer it for community
  use when speakers present in class.

  more as I would be demonstrating consistent and
  proper daily computer usage to my students.

• This would show the students that technology is
  useful and meaningful in every day life.

  would be focused on by increasing technology

• This would further the technology standing of
  the district by focusing on use by teachers and
  students in everyday learning.

Implementation Plan

• Implementing this equipment into my class
  curriculum would be very cost effective, helpful
  to the students, and easy.
•  I would use the system to support my teaching
  and help my students learn.
• All lessons could be presented using this
  technology.
• Lessons could be supported with information from
  the internet.

Project Evaluation

• I would evaluate this technology 2 ways
• Teacher I would compare lessons with
  information I am sharing. Do the presentations
  match the textbooks?
• Student I would have the students evaluate the
  use of the technology through homework, projects,
  and tests/quizzes. I would also ask that the
  students give narrative evaluations on the system
  by writing to me on a monthly basis and telling
  me what they think.

Budget

• Foundation has a technology limit of 1500.00.
• I have shopped at tigerdirect.com and found a
  system to fill that budget.
• The amount of 1500.00 will buy the system as
  well as any cables needed to get the system
  running.
• There will be no need for further training or
  staff.

Conclusion

• benefit my teaching and my students
• learn to become more comfortable with technology
  
• increase the learning level in my class by
  reaching out to all modalities of learning
  through an interesting and hands on type of
  teaching
