An Overview of PERT/CPM and Gantt Charts

• Construction of the Network
• Activity-on-Arc Approach Each activity
  represents an activity. The nodes correspond to
  events that mark the start or the completion of
  an activity
• Activity-on-Node Representation Arcs are used to
  connect two nodes (events) where one node is an
  immediate predecessor activity of the second node

• TL The latest allowable completion time for the

Probability Analysis - The role of PERT

• Manager is interested in having a probability
  estimate associated with a particular schedule
  completion date. PERT provides for such
  probability calculations by assigning three (3)
  time estimates to each activity.
