What is a High Performance Processor?
  • Processor subtype utilized for specific systems
that require rapid computations and fast input
    and output speeds.
  • Usually found in supercomputers, high-capacity
    servers and mainframes.
  • Typically based on RISC architectures.

Conclusion
  • Based on the data gathered, the IBM PowerPC
970FX, the Intel Itanium 2 and the AMD Opteron
are better all-around for both server and
    mainframe applications.
  • AMD Opteron and IBM PowerPC 970FX are compatible
with 32-bit and 64-bit systems and applications.
