Open BEx Query Designer

Navigate to andselect your cube
Hit OK

Drag-and-dropthe characteristicsto the
Rowswindow and the Key Figureto the
Columnswindow.

to filter results or to drilldown.

Drag Gender from the Rows window to the Filter

Right-click on Genderand select Restrict

Then hit Next

you want.

If everything is OK then hit Finish

Then hit OK.

Return to Excel and open the query again. You
can simply refresh itbecause it will not load
the new definition before retrieving data.
Open yourquery

User sees a dialog box asking for the value to
filter on. Enter either MALEor FEMALE and
select execute.

Query only shows records satisfying the filter.

You can enter a new value in the filter cell and
refreshthe query.
