28TSI Requirements for Dual Credit Courses
- Students wishing to enroll in dual credit courses
are required by law to be assessed for basic
reading, writing, and mathematics skills before
they can enroll in college coursework. THEA,
ASSET, COMPASS AND ACCUPLACER are the tests
colleges may use to assess incoming students for
TSI purposes.

- SAT - 1070 combined, with 500 or higher on math
and/or verbal (Critical Reading) - ACT - 23 composite, with 19 or higher on math
and/or English - TAKS (Exit Level) - 2200 in math and/or 2200 with
a writing sub-score of at least 3 in
English/Language Arts (ELA) - TAKS (10th Grade) - 2200 in math and 2200 with a
writing sub-score of at least 3 in
English/Language Arts (ELA) - Expires upon completion of high school
