DMS/ VDT Extensions Tactical Goals for FY07

• Provide VDT/rpm based dCache/SRM distribution
  with multi-node installation 11/15/06 VDT 1.3.12
  with dCache/SRM 1.7 rpm
• 2/15/07, VDT? dCache/SRM 2.2, including
  integrated GOC registration, OSG partitioning
  instructions
• Establish a tiered level support for VDT
  dCache/SRM installations
• Provide an end-to-end Linux at-scale test-bed
  for VDT dCache /SRM installation a test-harness
  for validating releases

• Specify supported hardware platforms and a
  hardware and OS lifecycle
• Develop a formal release process between the
  dCache/SRM development cycle and the VDT team
  releases
• Provide for rapid patch releases through rpm
  patch releases and the VDT stable development
  release framework

• Deploy VDT 1.3.12 with dCache 1.7 at two
  evaluation sites
• Deploy dCache/SRM v2.2 via VDT at 15 T2 sites via
  including Atlas, ligo by March 2007, registered
  with the GOC
• Provide a first version end-to-end
  troubleshooting tool for SRM/dCache Xfers.
• Provide a suite of site functional tests for
  SRM/dCache
• Establish a support and education model
• Further possible enhancements e.g. SRM
  monitoring via a web service, chimera evaluation
  testing
