12Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic
- The Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic is promoted by
the American Cancer Society in Baton Rouge. - Tournament Promoter is the American Cancer
Society and the Tournament Director is Kay
Willson. The tournament will enter its third
year this fall. - The tournament operates with volunteer leadership
committee of about 20 people with another 25-30
general volunteers and player host homes. - All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society
College Scholarship and Cancer Resource Network
programs.

29Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic
Scenes from 2006 Dudi Sela (Israel), hits a
forehand winner during the singles finals. Dudi
won the singles title defeating Izak Van Der
Merwe (South Africa) 5-7, 7-5, 6-3. In January,
Dudi qualified for the Australian Open, winning
three qualifying matches and then beat Top 50
tour regular Paradorn Schrichipan in the first
round. He then lost a tough 5-set match to Top
25 player Marat Safin in the second round!
