Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic
  • The Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic is promoted by
    the American Cancer Society in Baton Rouge.
  • Tournament Promoter is the American Cancer
    Society and the Tournament Director is Kay
    Willson. The tournament will enter its third
    year this fall.
  • The tournament operates with volunteer leadership
    committee of about 20 people with another 25-30
    general volunteers and player host homes.
  • All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society
    College Scholarship and Cancer Resource Network
    programs.

  • Kids Day, Saturday, October 27th. All kids under
    18 can come out on Saturday for the semifinals
    and hit with the pros and received a special
    promotional gift provided by our Kids Day
    Sponsor.

    patrons to become USTA members.

  • Sponsors participate in the on court trophy
    presentations for both the doubles and singles
    finals. The singles finals presentation is
    televised locally by Cox Channel 4.

  • Sponsors receive ticket packages ranging from 24
    VIP Passes for Title Sponsor to 2 VIP Passes for
    Player Sponsors.
  • Hospitality
  • The Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic provides free
    housing for players through our volunteer host
    home program. This was a huge success in 2006.
    Sponsors however can underwrite food and hotel
    expenses associated with umpires and players.

    volunteers, given daily match schedules and
    entered into a drawing for tickets to the Tennis
    Channel Open in Las Vegas along with other
    prizes!

Baton Rouge Pro Tennis Classic
Scenes from 2006 Dudi Sela (Israel), hits a
forehand winner during the singles finals. Dudi
won the singles title defeating Izak Van Der
Merwe (South Africa) 5-7, 7-5, 6-3. In January,
Dudi qualified for the Australian Open, winning
three qualifying matches and then beat Top 50
tour regular Paradorn Schrichipan in the first
round. He then lost a tough 5-set match to Top
25 player Marat Safin in the second round!
