Hypothesis
  • That leadership is discouraged in our Society,
    both in politics and in business.
  • Leaders must either forsake leadership qualities,
    or find a subculture that encourages them.

The Experiment
  • Longitudinal study of the graduates of 25 random
    collages
  • Randomly pick a group of 40 people from each
    school for the study for a total of 1000
    graduates
  • For 40 years, every 5 years we will contact the
    graduates
  • They will be contacted over the phone and
    surveyed
  • Each graduate will receive a score from 0 to 10
    on leadership and management skills
  • They will be asked what their rolls at work and
    in the community are
  • Businessmen will be asked how many people report
    directly or indirectly to them to determine their
    level of influence
  • Politicians will be asked how many citizens are
    in their area and how many other people hold the
    same position as they do in their same area
  • Due to the different nature of politics and
    business, the two will not be compared against
    each other.

Predictions
  • Leadership score will be inversely related to the
    graduates' level of influence
  • Management score will be directly related to
    their level of influence
  • Management scores of all graduates will go up in
    time, and the leadership scores of all graduates
    will go down on average. 
  • A small contingent of graduates who will improve
    in their leadership skills as well as in their
    management skills, and that these graduates will
    be found starting new businesses or on the school
    board of small communities where they are well
    known.

Reasoning
  • Leaders will be forced to stop being leaders
  • If not, they will not be given positions of power
  • Leaders will not be satisfied with these
    positions and will start their own companies or
    go to a small organization
