19Intent of the Survey
- Student and Faculty Awareness
- Recycling Data
- Ongoing Student Evaluation
20Content of the Survey
- Awareness of current programs / activities
- Actual Actions of Individuals
- Perceived Values of Individuals
- Open Ended Questions
- Demographic Questions
21Implications
If students highly value recycling, but do not
participate
There should be more projects and stronger
student incentives
Survey Results
If students highly value recycling, and do
participate
There should be more events and participation for
students
There should be more awareness and impact events
or projects for awareness
If students do not value recycling
22There are enough recycling bins on the CSUN campus
23CSUN should use its available resources to ensure
that recycling, waste, and greening classes are
available for participation on campus
24CSUN should use its available resources to ensure
that recycling, waste, and greening projects are
available for participation on campus
25Farmer's Market
- Presented by Stephany Stamatis
26Exploratory Research CSUN Food Study
- Purpose Determine demand for having a farmer's
market at the CSUN campus. - In addition, the study aimed to determine the
demand for a wider variety of food in campus
dining facilities that meet one or more of the
following criteria healthy, freshly prepared on
site, certified organic, and/or locally produced.
27Would you like to have a Farmer's Market on
campus?
28Would you be willing to pay slightly more for
healthier and/or locally sourced food?
The mean amounts currently spent on campus for
food per day are as follows Administrators
6.73, Faculty 6.97, Staff 6.97, Students 7.18
29What is the primary factor you consider when
buying food on campus?
30Conclusions
- Since there was so much positive feedback about
getting healthier and locally sourced food at
CSUN, I want to make it happen. - This would include drafting a proposal for
presentation to decision makers on campus. - Who wants to help?
