Shoreline plant material selection

• Plant materials are critical to stabilize the
  shoreline soils and blend with ecosystem
  characteristics.
• Native plant material selected
• 1) Seashore dropseed (Sporobolus virginicus)
• 2) Gulf cordgrass (Spartina spartinae)
• - Plant material selected was highly salt
  tolerant and fast growing to insure stability
• - Root system depth approximately 18 in.
• - Drought tolerant, but roots must still be kept
  out of hypersaline Baffin Bay waters on a
  continuous basis
