- Area submits proposal to Associate Director of
RML - RML forwards proposal to NLM after considering

- Does area have
- An institutional commitment to create and
continue the site? - At least a half-time salaried person to
coordinate the project? - Staff to do outreach and publicity?
- Staff to index and maintain the local records
with the vocabulary and geographic mapping? - Staff to handle customer questions?
- An existing Web site or database to serve as a
starting point?
6how Me the Money
- One-time funding of up to 25,000 per project are
available from NN/LM for - NN/LM Full Members
- NN/LM Affiliate Members must
- Partner with a Full Member, or
- Have a health sciences librarian working on the
project. - Funding requests must follow, or be accompanied
by, a full Go Local proposal
7Use funds for.
- Programming and computer support for mapping of
an already existing system to MedlinePlus
(Missouri model). - Selection and entering of materials into NLM or
locally hosted database, including personnel
costs, excluding half-time staff requirements, to
perform these activities such as consultants,
administrative support staff, selectors, etc. - Outreach and promotion including personnel and
travel costs to perform these activities. - Supplies and communications costs.

used to help link an existing local database)
