Why a Multimedia Lab?

• At Lake Village Elementary we strive to be
  successful in reading and writing for all
  subjects. In the multimedia lab, there will be
  activities and experiences available for writing
  in every subject for grades K-6.

What are we buying?

Item Descriptions

• The average classroom size at Lake Village
  Elementary is 19. There will be 25 computers 1
  for the teacher and 5 spare computer for new
  students and extra computers for ones that are in
  repair. Also one printer will be available.

Software

• There will many different software experiences
  available such as
• Kidspiration
• Education Learning School
• Print Shop 2008
• Web.com
• Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

Why Software?

• The software provided for students will encourage
  reinforcement and educational advances for
  children longing for challenge or for students
  who are struggling. It will allow the student
  to work at their own pace.

USB Drives

• USB drives will be available for students.
• This is an effiencent way to keep students work
  on file.
• If school looses power, students who have saved
  their files will be successful in retrieving
  them.

Digital Cameras

• Students will be able to use digital cameras for
  projects.
• These can be posted on their own personal web
  pages and the school site as well

• Teachers will be allowed to use these cameras, as
  well.

Security and Virus Protection Software

• We will purchase these available software to
  ensure that computers will not attain any
  viruses.
• Also, blocks will be placed on the computers so
  that students cannot access sites and materials
  that are inappropriate.

Why?

• FOR THE STUDENTs!! This is a great opportunity
  for students to get involved and creative in
  learning. This Lab will allow students to learn
  in more than just one way.
