• PAI Positional Accuracy Improvement

  bring into sympathy with GPS
• PAI does not stand alone it is a catalyst
• 2002/3 seminars showed underlying data management
  issues just as important
• Users need
• to understand their own datasets
• to quantify their costs and benefits
• to justify their own programmes

Possible scenario

• Council department is asked to search on an NG
  reference
• Is this inside or outside a conservation area
  listed building curtilege council ownership etc
• Council has some PAId areas, some not
• Neither Council nor searching solicitor(?) know
  how NGR was obtained
• From old map new map ADDRESSPOINT GPS set
• Answer could therefore be expensively wrong it
  could affect the value or viability of a property
  transaction.
