What am I?
I am a shimmery fluid polymer that is over 97
water. The water in me acts as a bridge linking
the polyvinyl alcohol to the sodium tetra borate
through cross-linked hydrogen bonding. This
cross linked polymer will shear if twisted and is
endothermic as it flows, getting colder in your
hands. What am I?

6
Learning Style Defined
The different ways that people naturally
think and learn

7
When students are aware of their learning style
they
  • Are able to determine the best approach to learn
    something new.
  • Can judge what kind of occupation would be suited
for them based on their learning style.
  • Do well in a career that uses their strongest
    learning styles.

Howard GardnersSeven Learning Styles
  • Verbal/Linguistic
  • Mathematical/Logical
  • Visual/Spatial
  • Bodily/Kinesthetic
  • Musical/Rhythmic
  • Interpersonal
  • Intrapersonal

Verbal/Linguistic
Learning Styles Best Ways to Learn Suggestions
Verbal/Linguistic Reading Take notes
Saying Read notes out loud
Hearing
Seeing Words Skim through reading first Study out loud with partner

Classifying Arrange notes in patterns
Work with patterns Assign numbers to information
Figuring with numbers Take notes in outline form. Use math formulas to solve (ratio, geometry, etc.)

Visual/Spatial
Learning Styles Best Ways to Learn Suggestions
Visual/Spatial Visualizing Study by making charts, graphs or pictures
Using colors and pictures Use highlighters
Seeing things in your mind Use webbing or mapping to take notes
Close your eyes and visualize mental images in yourmind

12
Body/Kinesthetic
Learning Styles Best Ways to Learn Suggestions
Bodily/Kinesthetic Touching Choose projects that let you build, create, shape with hands
Moving
Hands on learning Use objects to help you remember people, places,
Doing something physical while learning Volunteer and participate inclass

Musical/Rhythmic
Learning Styles Best Ways to Learn Suggestions
Musical/Rhythmic Rhythmically Create musical jingles to aide memorization
