  space
• This year of Astronomy why not look on a web site
  and see what this telescope can see

• Have you ever seen the planet Venus one of the
  brightest lights in the night sky?

• Galileo was amazed to discover the surface of
  planets.
• Galileo who did believe in God saw that God had
  made a world even more mysterious than was
  currently taught

• This red planet in the sky always spoke of war to
  ancient people so the god of war was called Mars.
• Currently scientists are searching for life on
  Mars using space probes.
• Did God create Mars as a beautiful planet for us
  to admire?

  bang that started the universe
• In Psalm 8 a beautiful poem in the Bible the poet
  sees the Moon and the stars as a work of Gods
  hands.

• When I look at your heavens, the work of your
  fingers, the moon and the stars which you have
  set in place
• WHAT ARE MEN, WOMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS THAT YOU ARE
  MINDFUL OF THEM?

Even in cities we can see the night sky

• It is good to spend some time looking at the
  beautiful full moon
• Perhaps in a different way each of us is
  beautiful too

Its great to be a space explorer

• In the Year of Astronomy why not visit a
  planetarium or see if you can get hold of a
  telescope. On a really dark and clear night why
  not see if your parents will take you out into
  the countryside to observe the night sky

God loves each one of us and we all matter to him
because we are special

• People often feel unimportant
• When you next feel unimportant think of those who
  love and care about you
• You could also listen to the quiet voice of God
  we all can hear if we listen
• I care about you and you matter because I created
  you as I created the Sun, Moon and stars.

What have we reflected upon

• This year is the United Nations Year of
  Astronomy.
• Galileo was the first man to write about what he
  saw through his telescope 400 years ago.
• Looking up makes us ask questions, be interested
  in science and reflect upon God who loves us
