21Veteran Services
- Disabled Veterans Outreach Program
- Local Veterans Employment Representative Program
- Veterans Representatives maintain contact with
veteran organizations, the Department of Veterans
Affairs, military bases, military hospitals and
other organizations. These contacts provide them
with the knowledge to make appropriate referrals
to veteran services not under Idaho Department of
Labors provision.

23Labor Rights?
- Idaho is a Right to Work state without a labor
board. - However, Idaho Department of Labor does have a
Wage and Hour Section. This section is
responsible for administering Idaho laws on - Minimum Wage
- Wage Payment
- Farm Labor Contractor Licensing
24The Wage and Hour Section -
- Notifies employers about complaints of unpaid
wages - Conducts hearings and resolves disputes between
workers and their employers - Assesses employer penalties for unpaid wages
- Provides education for employers on labor laws
- Wage and Hour is an advocate for you, in regard
to the areas it monitors and enforces.
25Work Opportunity Tax Credit
- 2,400 for each new adult hire
- 1,200 for each new summer youth hire and
- 9,000 for each new long-term family assistance
recipient hired over a two-year period.
26Work Opportunity Tax Credit
- WOTC applies to new hires only.
- The new hire must belong to one of six WOTC
target groups
