portable electronic devices (PEDs) in electrical
hazardous (classified) locations as defined in
API RP 500 or in specific locations as defined in
Shells SPM 1.06.1 This document applies to
both body worn and hand held portable electronic
devices for use in Class I, Division 1 or
Division 2 Hazardous (Classified) Locations which
are and are not listed or labeled for hazardous
(classified) locations. Examples include
Radios, Cameras, Calculators, Cell Phones, MP3
Players, Handheld GPS, Scanners, monitors,
