  • Access the Valley Metro website at
    http//www.ValleyMetro.org. Click on System
Map under Getting Started, then System Map in
PDF format to view a map of the Valley Metro bus
system. What bus number follows Southern Avenue?
  • Click on Bus Routes, then scroll down to access
a map and schedule for Southern Avenue. Lets
take a trip to Superstition Springs Center. If
we leave MCC at the beginning of class, what time
    will we arrive?
  • Now lets plan a trip from your home to MCC so
that you will arrive on time for this class.
Click on Trip Planner, then enter your home
address as the origin and the MCC address (1833
    W. Southern Avenue) as the destination. If a bus
does not pass within a mile of your home, enter
the nearest crossroads where a bus passes (use
    the map as reference).
  • a. What time would you need to leave your home
to arrive in time for this class?
  • b. What bus numbers would you take?
  • c. Could you take the trip on Saturday?
    Sunday?
  • d. How many miles is it one-way from your home
to MCC (to the nearest mile)?

Familiarizing students with the transit system
