Dont let your guard down!
The Plumas National Forest would like to extend a
thanks to residents and visitors for their
attention to fire safety. Many of our local
firefighters are committed to wildfires in the
west. The fire danger is extreme and we need
your continued support in being cautious while
using anything that could possibly start a fire.
Here are some tips to increase your awareness of
potential fire ignition sources

• The Plumas National Forest is currently in fire
  restrictions. Campfires and charcoal BBQs are
  restricted outside developed campgrounds, as well
  as additional restrictions on smoking and off
  highway vehicle use.
• The entire Plumas National Forest is closed to
  chainsaw use for personal use woodcutting due to
  the high fire danger. Contact your local Ranger
  Station for current information relating to fire
  and chainsaw restrictions.
• Never dispose of charcoal briquettes without
  soaking them or making sure they have no heat.
  They can hold heat for several days after use.
• Avoid parking your vehicle on dry grass. Fires
  are easily started by dry grass coming in contact
  with the exhaust system.
