- The design takes into account factors such as
readily-available resources, the existing skill
set of the local population, cultural
sensitivities of the users, and possible
implications of implementation. - Green Design
- The design considers environmental implications
of fabrication and use such as comparative life
cycle analysis, carbon footprint, and depletion
of resources. - Economic Development
- The design adds significant incremental value to
the client. - Social Development
- The design adds social (i.e. Maslowian) value to
the community such as improved shelter, food
quantity and quality, security, health,
integration of individuals in the community, and
empowerment through independence (e.g. from
multi-national corporations).
