Discipline Procedures

Objective

• 1. Students will be able to describe what to do
  if they receive a discipline referral and if they
  are sent out of class.
• 2.Students will explain what to do if they
  receive a detention or community service.

Review with students
Reasons why a student might receive a discipline
referral during class

• Not following class rules
• Not taking teacher warnings seriously
• Arguing with teacher . . ., etc. . . .

Discipline Referrals to the Office

• If a student receives a discipline referral or is
  asked to go to the office, they are to report
  immediately to the office.
• DO NOT ARGUE WITH A STAFF MEMBER!!!!!

• Students should enter through the COUNSELING
  door, SIGN IN, and let a staff member KNOW WHY
  YOU are there.
• Students should sit quietly on the bench until
  they are directed otherwise or until the period
  is over.
• Students are expected to report to their next
  class when the bell rings unless told otherwise.

Detention or Community Service

• Must be served on the date written on the slip.
• Failure to do so will result in suspension from
  school!!!
• It is the students job to inform their parents
  that they have detention.

After-school sports or other activities are not
valid excuses to miss detention!If a student is
absent the day they are supposed to serve
detention, they must serve it on the next school
day.

Detention Time Policy

• Students are to report to the Detention room no
  later than 230 p.m!!!
• If a student shows up late or is kicked out of
  detention, they will be suspended from school!
• Bring something to work on while in detention.

Homework Lunch

• Students are responsible for retaining a copy of
  their Homework Lunch Packet and completing the
  work.
• Students referred to Homework Lunch will be
  picked up by campus supervisors prior to their
  lunch period.
• Students give their form to the Homework Lunch
  Supervisor when they arrive at Homework Lunch.

Homework Lunch

• Students are responsible for turning in their
  completed work to the Homework Lunch Supervisor.
• If students complete their work early, they are
  to remain in Homework Lunch and read a book
  silently!!! (Copies of books will be available in
  the Homework Lunch room.)
