• Ben Franklin was a famous inventor. One of his
  inventions was the odometer.

Why did he chose to make this?

• Benjamin Franklin invented the odometer to
  measure distances. It will tell you how far you
  have traveled. This item will also help you keep
  track of the distance.

Where did you get this idea? Who or what inspired
you?

• I got this idea when he was a postmaster. Ben
  wanted to find the best and shortest routes for
  delivering mail.

Is your invention still used today?

• Yes, it is now used in cars, trucks, planes, and
  any type of transportation vehicle.

What did you plan to use the odometer for?

• I planned to use the odometer for measuring
  distances and to measure roads between Boston and
  Philadelphia.

What was the invention made out of?

• The odometer is made with cogs, wheels, a flat
  metal plate, three circles, and numbers running
  from 1 to 10.
