What is Content Collection?
  • Content Collection is a very useful tool for the
facilitation on learning here at FSU. Here are
    some attributes of Content collection
  • Versioning
  • Global Permissions
  • Workflows
  • Data Store
  • Public_html
  • Communication
  • Desktop Interface

5
Problems
  • Although Content Collection is a useful tool, it
does come with a few problems.
  • The workflow feature on Content Collection is
    complicated to use.
  • In Institutional Content the user is provided
    with excess information.
  • Because these and other problems exist with the
Content Collection, student usage is down.

6
Workflows
  • While making workflows is not very complicated
accessing an existing workflow can be counter
    intuitive.
  • Steps
  • 1) Click tools,
  • 2) Find Workflow activities,
  • 3) Choose either sent or received workflows,
  • 4) Select desired workflow,
  • 5) Finally, click content items of the work flow.
  • It takes a total of 5 navigation click to access
    the data!

7
Fixing Workflows
  • Add new menu navigation button.
  • My Workflows menu will show all work flows,
sent and received, with all creation information.
  • Once a workflow is selected, the content items in
    a user interface.

Insert a new navigation button called My
Workflows.
8
Fixing Workflows
  • Making the suggested changes will
  • allow the user to access data in the accordance
    with the 3-Click-Rule.
  • present the user with a intuitive interface that
will guide him/her to what they what.
  • promote usage through easy of use practices.
  • lead the facilitation of learning.

9
Unnecessary Information
  • Content Collection contains superfluous and
    unnecessary information.
  • An example of this unnecessary content is the
    information provided in institution content.
  • This extra information slows down the process of
loading and retrieving information from the
Content Collection System by causing information
    overload to its users.

10
Limiting Information
  • Changing the Content Collection with our
    suggestions will
  • allow more storage space to be used by the user.
  • make browsing for college related information
    much easier.
  • increase security of important information.
  • create more student usage by decreasing the
    possibility of information overload.

11
Limiting Information
  • We can limit information by
  • making the information provided be defaulted to
the information provided by the users college.
Such information can be placed in workflows.
  • removing the Institutional Content button.
  • making public workflows searchable and
subscribe-able like groups are on social
    networking websites. This would allow
unconventional consumers of the information to
obtain required information without having to
    overload other users with unnecessary
    information.

12
Summary
  • Content Collection can be a beneficial tool for
    the facilitation of learning.
  • Workflows can be altered cosmetically and
    navigationally to promote usage.
  • Sometimes too much information can have a
    negative effect on users.
  • If the changes are made to Content Collection,
the survey shown here will generate different
    figures.
