2How are we using our time?
Are we using it wisely?
3We need to use our time wisely because it is a
gift from God.
- (James 117) Every good gift and every perfect
gift is from above, and cometh down from the
Father of lights, with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning. - Time is From God
- He created time (Gen 11)
4- (James 413-15) Go to now, ye that say, Today or
tomorrow we will go into such a city, and
continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get
gain Whereas ye know not what shall be on the
morrow. For what is your life? It is even a
vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and
then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say,
If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or
that.
5We need to use our time wisely because life is
short.
- (James 414) For what is your life? It is even
a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and
then vanisheth away. - Like a vapor
- Short
- Doesnt leave much of a trace
- Fleeting
6We need to use our time wisely because life is
short.
- (1 Peter 124) For all flesh is as grass, and
all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The
grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth
away - Flesh is as Grass
- Grass Withers as the Flesh will Die
- Flower is as Mans Glory
- Flower falls off as the Mans Glory is Forgotten
7Mans Earthly Accomplishments will be Destroyed!
- (2 Peter 310) But the day of the Lord will come
as a thief in the night in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the
elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up.
8- Life is short and our physical accomplishments
will be destroyed - Need to put emphasizes on our accomplishments
elsewhere - (Matt 619-21) Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves break through and
steal But lay up for yourselves treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal
For where your treasure is, there will your heart
be also.
9- (1 John 217) And the world passeth away, and
the lust thereof but he that doeth the will of
God abideth forever.
10Must use our time for service to God
- (Rom 1211) Not slothful in business fervent in
spirit serving the Lord - (Matt 2534-46)
- Hungry
- Feed
- Thirsty
- Give Drink
- Stranger
- Take in
- Naked
- Clothed
- Sick
- Visit Help
- In Prison
- Come unto
- Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the
least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me. - This is how we give service unto God
11Pure Religion
- (James 127) Pure religion and undefiled before
God and the Father is this, To visit the
fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to
keep himself unspotted from the world. - Visit the fatherless and widows
- Service to God
- Keep himself unspotted
- (Rom 122) And be not conformed to this world
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
12Must use our time for service to God
- (Gal 69) And let us not be weary in well doing
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint
not. - We will reap this is our treasure in heaven
- If we Faint not
- If we dont Sow theres nothing to Reap
- (Gal 610) As we have therefore opportunity, let
us do good unto all men, ESPECIALLY unto them who
are of the household of faith.
13Must use our time to teach the Gospel of Christ
- Direct Command From Christ to Teach the Gospel of
Christ to All The World! - (Matt 2819) (Mark 1615-16)
- Go Into All The World!
- Each day many die and many are born
- The world constantly needs to be taught!
14Must use our time to teach the Gospel of Christ
- We can accomplish our task of teaching the Gospel
of Christ by - Talking to others about Christ and his body
- Handing out pamphlets, tracks, and cards inviting
people to services - Holding in home Bible Studies
- Having gospel meetings and properly inviting the
public - Tried and True Preaching of the Gospel
15Must use our time to teach the Gospel of Christ
- Preaching the Gospel Tried and True
- (Rom 116) Power of God unto Salvation
- (1 Cor 121) It pleased God by the foolishness
of preaching to save them that believe. - This is how God wanted it!
16Must use our time to teach the Gospel of Christ
- (Rom 1013-15) For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall
they call on him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in him of whom they
have not heard? And how shall they hear without
a preacher? And how shall they preach, except
they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful
are the feet of them that preach the gospel of
peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
17Must use our time to fellowship with one another
- (John 1334-35) A new commandment I give unto
you, That ye love one another as I have loved
you, that ye also love one another. By this
shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if
ye have love one to another. - We must make time to fellowship one another
- How can we love one another as Christ loves us if
we dont get to know and understand one another?
18Must use our time to fellowship with one another
- (Rom 1210) Be kindly affectioned one to another
with brotherly love in honor preferring one
another. - How can we prefer one another if we dont know
one another?
19We must use our time wisely!
- Time was given to us by God
- We dont have all that much!
20The Clock of Life
- The clock of life is wound but once,
- And no man has the power,
- To tell just when the hand will stop,
- At late or early hour.
- Now is the only time you own!
- Live, love, toil with will
- Place not faith in tomorrow,
- For the clock may then be still.
21- If you have time, dont wait for time.
(Benjamin Franklin) - (John 94) I must work the works of him that
sent me, while it is day the night cometh, when
no man can work. - Christ will return when we will no longer have
time.
22- (Mark 1334-37) For the Son of man is as a man
taking a far journey, who left his house, and
gave authority to his servants, and to every man
his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Watch ye therefore for ye know not when the
master of the house cometh, at even, or at
midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the
morning Lest coming suddenly he find you
sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto
all,...
23Watch!
