4Coordinates
5What are the coordinates?
- Red Dot
- (4, 2)
- Green Dot
- (-5, 5)
- Blue Dot
- (-3, -3)
- Purple Dot
- (2, -6)
6Points to Remember for the GED test
- To record an answer on the coordinate plane grid,
you must have an x value and a y value. - No answer for a coordinate plane grid will have a
value that is a fraction or a decimal. - Mark only the one circle that represents your
answer.
7Find (1, 4)
8Find (-1, -4)
9Find (4, -3)
10Find (-3, 4).
11A rectangle is drawn on a coordinate plane so
that three vertices are located at these
coordinates     (-5, 2),(5, 2), and (-5, -3).
- What are the coordinates of the fourth vertex of
the rectangle? - Answer (5, -3)
12The center point of a circle is at the origin of
a coordinate plane. The circle passes through the
point (6, 0).
- At what other point does the circle cross the
x-axis? - (-6, 0)
13Mark the point (-3, 4) on the coordinate plane
grid on the answer sheet.
14A rectangle is drawn on a coordinate grid. Its
vertices, or corners, are located at (-2, -4),
(-2, 1), and (4, -4).
- At which point is the fourth vertex? Mark your
answer on the coordinate grid on your answer
sheet. - (4, 1)
15If you graph the three given points on a
coordinate plane, then connect the points in the
order given, which set of points forms a triangle
that is upside down?
- (3, 7), (3, 3), (8, 3)
- (-4, -1), (-4, -5), (-6, -5)
- (1, -3), (-2, -3), (-2, 2)
- (-5, 5), (0, 0), (2, 2)
- (4, -1), (4, -6), (8, -1)
- Answer 5
16Segment JK is shown in the diagram below. If
segment JK is rotated 90 clockwise around J with
K now at the coordinates of (-1, 2), what is the
new midpoint of segment JK?
