Title: Terminology
1Terminology
2- Annotation
- An annotation is comprised of a brief title, note
and a set of framing points which are relative
to the resource being annotated. Framing points
can vary depending on the source object. - Video and audio resources might use time codes,
cues, as framing points. The framing points
might be determined by manually setting them or
by using a scrubber to make the selection. - In the future, image-based resources might use a
set of coordinates and viewing level, zoom, as
framing points. - In the future, books might use page numbers and
text selection as framing points.

3- Playlist
- A playlist is a sequence of annotations gathered
for presentation to any number of users. A
playlist is comprised of a brief title, note and
a selected set of annotations by the user
creating the playlist. The sequential order the
annotations are viewed in is under the control of
the playlist creator. - Playback of a playlist might be similar to the
playback of a slideshow in PowerPoint. The user
would have control over playback from annotation
to annotation or a timer might be provided. - Metadata from each annotation would appear during
that annotation playback. - As expected stop, start, pause controls for the
playlist and annotations will be provided.
