Why does it matter?

• People need information to help them do their job
• Service delivery
• Planning managing at local, regional national
  level
• Public reporting
• IMT needs to be an effective vehicle to deliver
  access to information in the 21st Century

Whats the problem?

• Some stakeholders arent getting the information
  they need e.g. because the data arent
• collected
• consistent
• Accessible
• Key stakeholders are very frustrated

How will this be sorted?

• IMT is about the information which NHSScotland
  needs to deliver effective healthcare, the
  technology needed to deliver that information to
  the right person at the right time and the range
  of processes such as training and support
  services needed to make it happen.

What will our study look at?

• Stakeholder involvement
• How are they identified and who are they?
• How are their needs assessed prioritised?
• Have their needs been met by IMT implementations
  and how does SEHD know that?

• What is the SEHD leadership role for IMT
• How does SEHD deal with policy funding for IMT
• How effectively does it use the outputs to
  improve performance accountability
• How is it fulfilling its IMT governance
  obligations.

Our approach

• Analyse stakeholder perceptions of IMT strategy
  and leadership
• Map existing strategic IMT relationships within
  NHSS
• Evaluate NHSS IMT interfaces with other public
  bodies
• Identify internal IMT communications channels
• Assess the effectiveness of IMT leadership
• Identify NHSS programme project management
  structures
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the programme and
  project management measures in operation
• Carry out mini-PIRs
• Use case studies e-procurement and SCI
