• Born in Boston January 17, 1706
• At age 15, began delivering newspapers for his
  brothers printing shop
• First moved to Philadelphia in October 1723

• Received training in printing in London
• First published Poor Richards Almanac in 1732
• Organized the first fire company in Philadelphia

• In 1752 he successfully performed his kite
  experiment to prove the presence of electricity

• 1750 Was elected to the Pennsylvania Assembly,
  where he served until 1764
• 1775 Was chosen to be a member of the Second
  Continental Congress
• 1787 Was elected a delegate to the Convention
  that drew up the U.S. Constitution
• 1790 April 17th, died at the age of 84
