Summary Observations

• Condition of Federal Aid System has deteriorated
  every year for the past 5 years
• The rate of deterioration is increasing
• Great concerndeterioration of roads in fair
  condition
• Stimulus dollars will help some, but . . .
• No evidence that this trend is going to reverse
  itself

  conditions worse than federal aid roads
• State bridge condition improving
• Local bridge conditions declining
• The longer we wait the more expensive it is
