Abstract Semiconductor nanocrystals, also known
as quantum dots, are increasingly used as
fluorescent labels for biological applications.
This is primarily because of their incredible
brightness and extensive photostability. Quantum
dots range in size from 5-40 nm and can be
functionalized in order to tag nucleic acids,
proteins and lipids. In the Cramb group, quantum
dots are applied to image receptor proteins
dynamics, examine angiogenic blood vessels and to
explore streptavidin-biotin dynamics. In this
lecture some recent results using fluorescence
correlation spectroscopy and various imaging
technologies applied to the above studies will be
presented.
Pizza and pop will be provided
