Title: Folie 1
1Programme of bilateral EU-Russia collaboration
- J. Roth
- Bilateral Agreements EU-DOE
- e.g. PISCES operation (following talk by Russ
Doerner) - Bilateral Agreement EU-Russia
- collaboration on Material damage in transient
heat loads - involving FZJ, ENEA, FZK, Kurtchatov, TRINITI

code MEMOS is upgraded to 3D geometry for
simulations of macrobrush target damage in real
experimental conditions

9Other codes
PEGASUS code- Dust size distribution for NB31-
modelling for W cracksTOKES code- TOKamak
Equilibrium and Surface processes code- Impurity
concentrations for C-Be-W ITER wall with ELMs
- Future plans
- For W, model for the heat loads below melting
threshold taking the plasticity into account. - Dust particles production rates and size
distributions have to be elaborated (W) and
developed (Be). - In cooperation between EU and RF the modelling
group in FZK will continue numerical simulations
supporting the future experiments at the plasma
gun and JUDITH facilities.

Agreement Close Support Unit - Garching
- Objectives and plans for EU-RF research contract
(Contract signed 1-2-2006) - Determine erosion/lifetime of the ITER first wall
under ELM and disruption loads - Determine erosion/lifetime of the ITER first
wall under mitigated disruption loads - Determine the effect of Be deposition on the ITER
divertor target erosion and lifetime under ELM
and disruption loads

13 Practical Issues (I)
- Follow-up, EU participation, etc.
- Regular meetings in Moscow every 6 months
(only 2 meetings held Kick-off meeting in
Feb-2006 and 1st meeting in Dec-2006) - Participation of EU scientists in
experiments/analysis for short term long term
stays possible ? to be agreed - EU Targets will be returned to the EU for final
destructive analysis - Publication of results in journals/conferences
carried out with agreement of EU and RF
scientists/institutes involved and clearance by
EFDA
Alberto Loarte, EFDA -CSU Garching
14Co-ordination of bilateral EU-Russia
collaboration
- EU Co-ordination
- up 2007 EFDA CSU-Garching, Alberto Loarte
- since 2008 concerning technology F4E,
Gabriela Seibene concerning physics
investigation EFDA -
- Understanding (with Gabriela)
- - Workprogramme PISCES completely Physics ? EFDA
- EU programme agreed with EU PWI TF leaders and
integrated into SEWG Mixed Materials - - Workprogramme TRINITI mostly Technology ? F4E
- Physics of surface damage ? EFDA
- Should remain integrated in SEWG Transient
