  • Quantitative data Means, Median, Mode
  • Categorical data Percentages
  • Example If you observe 20 people wearing red
    shirts and 30 people wearing blue shirts, 40 and
    60 UNLESS you measure this across SEVERAL
    sessions
  • Example If you observe and record the happiness
    level of 50 people on a numerical scale (e.g.,
    from 1 to 5), then you can take the mean, median,
    and mode of happiness
  • Random selection (each participant in the
    population of interest has the same chance of
    being chosen)
  • Randomized/randomization (each participant has an
    equal chance of being placed into each group)
  • Significant (a statistical termnot due to
    chance)
